Anuradha Thakur nominated as director on RBI Central Board [25 Jul 2025]
The Central Government has nominated Anuradha Thakur, Secretary of the Department of Economic Affairs, as a Director on the Central Board of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), replacing Ajay Seth. Thakur’s appointment is effective from July 24, and will remain in effect until further notice.

Deepak Bagla assumes charge as Mission Director, Atal Innovation Mission [21 Jul 2025]

Under his leadership, Invest India received multiple global accolades and emerged as a key institution supporting entrepreneurship, innovation, and startup growth across the country. He has served on several high-level government committees and represented India in multiple international forums, including as President of the World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (WAIPA).

Replica of Ashoka Pillar unveiled in Waskaduwa, Sri Lank [21 Jul 2025]
A Replica of the Ashoka pillar, built in the sacred premises of Waskaduwa Sri Subhuthi Viharaya was unveiled on 21st July 2025. It is a Buddhist temple situated in the city of Waskaduwa, in Kalutara district, a Southern Province of Sri Lanka, about 42km south of Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Ukraine’s parliament appointed the country’s first new prime minister in five years, part of a major cabinet overhaul aimed at revitalising wartime management as prospects for peace with Russia grow dim. Yulia Svyrydenko, 39, has been tasked by President Volodymyr Zelenskiy with boosting domestic weapons production and reviving Ukraine’s loan-dependent economy. In a speech to parliament, Zelenskiy said he expected his new government to increase the share of domestic weapons on Ukraine’s battlefield to 50% from 40% within six months.
